These 5 habits are totally destroying the environment and if you are still doing these then you got to STOP!!!!

1- PLASTIC TOOTHBRUSHES

Are you still guilty of using plastic toothbrushes in 2021?

Since the inception of toothbrushes in 1930s, there has been a massive growth in the production, usage and disposal of toothbrushes. In the early days,  the basic toothbrush was made from natural materials. But during the early 20th century, with the evolution and innovation of plastic, manufacturers started substituting nylon and other plastics into the design and since then they never looked back.

Fast forward to 2019, More than a billion toothbrushes are disposed which end up into land-fill and find their way into our water ways and oceans thus becoming food for marine life.

Moreover, plastic toothbrushes are made from polypropylene plastic and nylon which are toxic to marine life. Also toothbrushes are not totally recyclable as the small bits get stuck in machinery. So, the question is - why are you still using a plastic toothbrush voluntarily????

There are tons of eco-friendly, natural, biodegradable options and they are pretty cost effective.  Don't wait till you are forced to make the change. You gotta do it NOW!! See Bamboo toothbrushes here - Bamboo Toothbrushes

2- Plastic Earbuds

Remember this heartbreaking image of the sea horse wrapped around an ear bud???

Plastic cotton buds are among the thousands of sanitary products flushed down toilets everyday instead of being put in the bin. They are generally composed of polypropylene, one of the most widely produced plastics. Since they are small and light, they can easily pass through the sewage pipes and end up into the ocean. They also cannot be recycled so if you have got a box of plastic ear buds lying around - you gotta swap it Mate- See an eco friendly alternative here - Bamboo Cotton Earbuds

3- Disposable Coffee Cups.

You buy coffee everyday and still no keep cup!!!!!!

16 billion paper cups are used for coffee every single year, which leads to 6.5 million trees cut down, 4 billion gallons of water going to waste, and enough energy to power 54,000 homes for a year also goes to waste. Yes its easy and convenient to get your coffee on the go but STOP , THINK.  There are other creatures on this planet too Do we want DOOMSDAY to come sooner??? Hell No!! So don't procrastinate-

4- Single Use Plastic Bags

OH MY GOD.. THIS JUST GETS ME US ANGRY

What do you do with that single use plastic bag you just picked your tomatoes in? Or that take away dinner that came in that plastic bag. You know its bad for the planet but yeah whatever - what difference does one bag make. WELL IT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE. Those bags end up in the ocean, becoming food for marine life and if you are a seafood lover, then its quite possible you have some plastic in you and your future generations will be plastic prototypes for humans. If not in the ocean, then they just sit around in landfill and make the place look like this.

Pretty, isn't it??. Reusable bags are everywhere and if you still haven't gotten around to getting them then please check them out here :- Reusable Cotton Grocery bags.  Silicon Food Pouches

5- Plastic Bottles

STOP, THINK Why waste money on buying your drink when you can just get it for free?

Firstly, it takes a ton of resources to produce a single plastic bottle.

It takes 17 million barrels of oil to make one year’s supply of bottled water. That much oil could fuel 1.3 million cars for a year or power 190,000 homes! Plastic waste (including plastic bottles) washes into the ocean and kills 1.1 million marine creatures annually. Not only is it more expensive to buy bottles water but also they can  contain chemicals like BPA and antimony that can cause reproductive issues, asthma and dizziness. Studies even suggest a possible risk of breast cancer.

So stop going for convenience- get your reusable drink bottle now-
